How the short drama chart works

Who counts as a viewer, how completion and the score work, who is eligible, what's excluded, and how we round, publish and correct.

Scope

The chart counts viewers on Runotoon only. It is not a ranking of the short-drama market, and a title's position says nothing about how it does on other apps. If other services are added later, each gets its own chart unless a comparable method is agreed.

Period

One full week, Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC. The chart publishes on Monday at 12:00 UTC.

Viewers and completion

A viewer is a distinct person who opened the title at least once during the week, counted once for the whole week (never a sum of daily counts). Completion is the share of those viewers who finished at least one episode of the title in the same week; a person counts once however many episodes they finish, so completion can't exceed 100%. Staff and test accounts and known bots are excluded.

Score and ranking

Score = viewers × (0.5 + 0.5 × completion)

A title needs at least 30 viewers in the week to rank. Ties go to the higher completion, then a fixed title key. The top 10 are shown; if fewer qualify, the chart is shorter and says so.

Rising

The 3 titles with the biggest viewer growth on the previous week, among titles with 30+ viewers this week and at least 20 the week before. A title with no previous-week figure is marked "New" on the chart instead.

Exclusions

Unpublished titles and titles rated Explicit (18+) on Runotoon are never charted. Titles taken down are removed from every published week.

Rounding and privacy

Viewers are rounded to the nearest 10, completion to a whole percent and the score to the nearest 10. Nothing below 20 is ever shown. We publish no revenue, purchases or per-person data.

Freshness and corrections

If a week's data is late or fails our checks, the previous chart stays up with a notice; we never publish an empty or zero chart. Every published week is frozen. A correction is a new revision with a visible note; the archive URL always shows the current revision.
