No Merman On This Week's Chart: Judge The Fantasy Yourself

My cursed merman husband rules the deep is not in our top 10 this week. Here is what the fantasy titles on it can and cannot tell you.

Let us save you the search. My Cursed Merman Husband Rules the Deep is not on our weekly chart for 2026-W43, and nothing in this week's top 10 is doing cursed sea husbands. Our blunt opinion, up front: a chart position tells you how many people started something and roughly how many stuck with it. It does not tell you whether you will like it, and treating it as a recommendation is how you end up forty episodes into a story that is not for you. Here is what the numbers can actually support, and how to test the fantasy titles that did make the list.

Why My Cursed Merman Husband Rules the Deep Is Missing

Our chart covers our own audience only, not the whole market. A title needs at least 30 viewers in the week to rank at all, and the list for 2026-W43 runs to ten titles, every one of them new to it. A cursed merman romance is not among them. That is not a statement about whether the show exists. It is a statement about our sample in one week, and one week is a small thing.

On paper, the closest things we have are supernatural or mythic rather than aquatic. Last Witch Of Swendel is live action, 570 episodes, 43% completion, 90 viewers, ninth. Reborn to Win is animated, 500 episodes, 50% completion, 280 viewers, third. Infinity Stars is animated, 412 episodes, 69% completion, 60 viewers, tenth. If the appeal of the keyword is a rules-heavy fantasy world, those three are the nearest we can point you to this week, and all of them ask for a long stay.

A Rank Is A Score, Not A Verdict

The scoring is not mysterious. It is viewers multiplied by (0.5 + 0.5 x completion), with a 30-viewer floor and rounded viewer counts. In plain terms, audience size counts for everything and completion counts for half. That is why the top of the list and the best finished title are rarely the same thing. Sort this week's titles by completion instead of rank and the order almost reverses.

  • The Mafia Heir: 1210 viewers, 57% completion, rank 1.
  • Summer Troubles (Movie): 170 viewers, 75% completion, rank 4.
  • Infinity Stars: 60 viewers, 69% completion, rank 10.
  • Rekindled Heartache: 90 viewers, 66% completion, rank 7.
  • My Online Girlfriend Is a CEO: 330 viewers, 41% completion, rank 2.

Look at that again. Summer Troubles (Movie) has the highest completion on the chart at 75% and lands fourth on 170 viewers. The Mafia Heir has 1210 viewers, 57% completion and first place. Neither number is misleading, but only one of them is about the show. The other is about crowd size, and you are not a crowd.

What Completion Does Not Tell You

Completion is a share of the audience, not a rating out of ten. It says how many of the people who started kept going, and nothing about why. If length drove it, the 26-episode My Online Girlfriend Is a CEO would sit well above the 1016-episode Rekindled Heartache. It does not: 41% against 66%. Whatever completion is picking up here, it is not simply patience with a long run.

Who starts also matters. Infinity Stars posts 69% completion, second only to a nine-episode film, on 60 viewers, the smallest audience on the chart. A small, self-selected crowd finishes things. That number is a weaker signal than the same figure on a title with twenty times the viewers, and a weak number on a short title is louder than a weak number on a 570-episode one.

Count The Free Episodes Before You Commit

This is the figure we would check first, and the one most people skip. Where a free episode count is listed, it tells you how much of the run you can test before committing to anything. Where it is not listed, treat it as unknown rather than zero, because several titles on this chart show no free episode figure at all.

  • The Mafia Heir: 20 free episodes out of 1184.
  • Last Witch Of Swendel: no free episode figure listed, so unknown to us.
  • Reborn to Win: 20 free episodes out of 500.
  • Infinity Stars: 20 free episodes out of 412.
  • Guardian to Groom: 20 free episodes out of 52.
  • I Married My Billionaire Nemesis in Three Hours: 20 free episodes out of 35.
  • My Online Girlfriend Is a CEO: no free episode figure listed.

Twenty is not twenty. On a 35-episode title that free run is most of the show. On The Mafia Heir it is under 2% of the run, a sample rather than a season. If you are choosing between a 500-episode fantasy and a 35-episode romance, the same free number means two different things, and neither of them is a quality judgement.

How To Judge The Fantasy Yourself

So you want a mythic romance and the chart will not hand you one. Fine. Use the free episodes as a test rather than a trailer.

  1. Note the episode where your attention drops. That episode number is better data than any rank.
  2. Check whether the first few episodes set out the rules of the world. Fantasy needs its rules stated early or it drifts.
  3. Compare completion only between titles of similar length. 26 episodes and 1016 episodes are not the same measurement.
  4. Decide whether you want the episode count before you start. 570 episodes is a habit, 35 is a week.
  5. Use our chart only to see what other readers are trying, and ignore the rank column for your own decision.
  6. If a free episode figure is missing, treat the offer as unknown to you, not as absent.

None of this is an argument against the chart. It is an argument for reading it narrowly. Our data says what a sample of our readers watched in one week; it cannot say what a cursed merman romance is worth to you. If that title ever clears 30 viewers in a week with our audience, it will appear in the list and we will write about it then. Until then, we are not going to act as if a rank we do not have means anything at all.
